Quick gateway to the Daintree rain forest and Great Barrier Reef. The town is peaceful but big enough to get everything you need. There is no public transport but pay fee shuttle services. We hired a car and found that useful. People used push bike hire. There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops. The tour options are never ending. We did a snorkelling tour to the outer reef and a day trip to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Very nice town has lots of shops restaurant cafes and pubs, nice beach and very chill. Town centre is very walkable. We by coincidence were there for carnivale which is 2 days of celebrations, was great fun, and the place is very family friendly.

I really liked the wide variety of places to dine and all within easy walking distance. Lovely walk along the beach and up to the viewing points. Very clean and in a great location for getting to other areas of interest in that part of Queensland. It’s a great location.

We have been regulars in Port Douglas for the last twenty years the most consistent restaurants are as follows
1.Zinc
2. Salsa
3. Iron Bar
4. Gelato place called La Capenina
Most people are very friendly and accommodating and walking along 4 Mile beach is great however if you’re a family and want to see the reef don’t let the experience be soured by the expense as you do need a bit of money however

Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Snorkelling at the reef, strolling on the beaches and in the rainforest. Hartleys crocodile well worth a visit.
Lovely warm weather; easy to get around.
Roading up to Cape Tribulation still slow and some surface flooding due to heavy rainfall whilst we were there.

Location is amazing, just a short 15-20 minute car drive to the famous Mossman Gorge - DONT LEAVE PORT DOUGLAS WITHOUT GOING TO MOSSMAN GORGE - a truly great place to swim but be very, very, extremely cautious whilst in the water - the currents are very strong in some areas of the gorge.
Port Douglas is very scenic and majestic with many beautiful beaches - most of which you really cannot swim as there are signs advising caution with the possibility of crocks and marine stingers. Port Douglas has a vast range of eateries - would definitely recommend staying/visiting.
The owners were friendly and welcoming on arrival and provided me with lots of information about the town and details I would need to get around. They couldn’t do enough through the stay whenever I had a question. I was travelling for work so they thoughtfully arranged accommodation on the quieter side of the hotel, away from the pool. The pool was actually beautiful - a little tropical oasis! There is a barbecue area and lots of places to relax in the shade with a book between dips.
This was our first trip to Port Douglas and absolutely loved it. Hotel was very good, gardens and pool areas are amazing, with access straight onto Four Mile Beach. It was about half an hour walk along the beach into Port Douglas which we did each morning for breakfast ... and rather than take the shuttle buses that picked up from the various resorts, we also walked to and from Macrossan St in the evening but along the footpath (just needed to use the torch on the mobile).
Lovely and helpful staff, clean and really comfortable, easy location right at the end of the main street of Port Douglas (great beach access if you're going to Four Mile Beach). Not a "luxury resort"-style hotel, but clean, friendly, quirky, and welcoming, and has everything you need (and way more - bikes, puzzles, DVDs, beach accessories, etc). Definitely exceeded our expectations. We had a great experience, and would highly recommend it.
Apartment 167 is where we stayed. This is privately owned, not by Pullman (Accor), we found it on Booking.com and it was cheaper than the Pullman apartment prices. It has two bedrooms, one bathroom. Pool access from balcony of our unit, walk outside and step into the lagoon pool. The owner of this Villa also owns Apartment 166 next door which is more a traditional single room with a huge spa tub. The two apartments can be booked together.
Beyond expectations - beautiful like a little villa on Bali. Massive rooms that have a private outdoor sitting area and shower, a mini kitchen, king bed, and big lounge area. Beautifully kept landscaping across the resort, large pool, honesty bar, and only a 15 minute walk into town. Also has gated parking. Such good value, and staff were very nice and accommodating. Will definitely stay here if we are ever in port Douglas again.
Perfect location for exploring Port Douglas and the surrounding area. The accommodation was superb, excellent layout, clean and beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful, especially Lee, who was kind enough to help us with our queries before our arrival from the UK. I would highly recommend these apartments and would love to come back! Thank you so much :)
Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners Kim & James were very friendly and provided top service. We felt at home. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Port Douglas, which makes it easy to access the beaches, restaurants, pubs and shops by foot.
We visit Port Douglas regularly and divide our time between the Sheraton Mirage and the Pullman. We had stayed at the Pullman Sea Temple on a previous occasion and found the penthouse to be luxurious and we couldn't wait to return. Our recent experience was very different.
Well situated, very close to everything in Port Douglas. Good sized apartments clean, professional, helpful staff, Sue who manages the complex went out of her way to help in any way she could, friendly and caring that people have a great experience.
Thank you.
Pretty hotel with spacious comfortable rooms. The area has a lot of bugs and this hotel has a door to the room entry then another into the specific room to reduce their entry. Big tub on the balcony was excellent! Staff was great and laundry on site.
The house itself was a nice design and pleasant to stay in.
Location was great. 7 mins to port Douglas. A short walk to the beach. Across the road from a nice restaurant.
It was clean which is always very important.
Lovely indoor/outdoor area.
Good convenient location near Port Douglas. Comfortable room and large comfortable bed. Largest shower we had on our trip and good hot water and pressure. Pool to use. Easy after hours check in process. Responsive and communicative staff.
The room was beautifully decorated and the bed/pillows were really comfortable. The hotel surrounds, pool, bar area were well laid out with lots of room and plenty of sun beds. All the staff at the complex were friendly and professional.
This modern, beachfront hotel was just the ticket for visiting the cute little resort of Port Douglas and Four-Mile Beach. Steps away from everything, the facilities were contemporary, clean and convenient.
The location was fabulous, in the heart of Port Douglas. The room had everything we needed. The pool area is lovely and being an adults only property, it is nice and quiet.
