Great location in Rotorua, not far from the town. Spacious, clean and pleasant room and bathroom. Comfy bed. Nice staff. Handy that they had laundry facilities. Pool and hot tubs looked great although we didn’t actually get chance to use them.

The rooms were extremely comfortable, well appointed and spacious. The bed was more than comfortable. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. The location couldn’t have been better, walking distance to all restaurants and shops.

This is a very clean and spacious place to stay in Rotorua (though we did upgrade to a larger room which had fabulous views and a living space). It was very quiet at night (so good for sleeping). The staff were really friendly and helpful and a credit to the hotel. We didn't go into the bar but it looked lovely and seemed very popular.
It's very centrally located so it makes the perfect base from which to explore the city but be aware of the parking charges if you're arriving by car. I'd not hesitate to stay here again though, it's a super modern and clean place to base yourself in this lovely town.

We booked 2 nights in the family suite, which is a very small room, no space for kids to run, no wardrobe or closet to organize our clothes, bathroom with mold and hairs found in the shower. Linen didn’t look clean, carpets with dirty, I found a pill medication from previous guest, and a rubbish receipt under the bed. I needed to move the beds to place them together so my 2 little kids could sleep with more space.
Horrible parking space, carpark is so narrow. I had to park in a disable place which was the only space available. Bad communication between staff, we organised late check out @ 10:30 am at the moment of our check in, and I got a call at 10.03 am asking us to leave the room.
The pool is cold, they offer better clean of the rooms we booked, but next day they forgot a big cleaning spray in the room, maybe for me to clean !!!
24hrs front desk is a joke, We went to Mac Donald’s at 11 pm to grab some food and at the time of coming back was nobody in the main door to open it for us, the swipe cards didn’t work!! We needed to walk around to the back door.
Lastly, the free breakfast they provide has very limited offers. No hot dishes like eggs or sausages. Maybe those are extra price in la carta.
For a 4.5 star hotel this is horrible, I went to Rotorua dozen of times and hotels with less star level are much better than this, and the price OMG!!! We spend more than 1.2K for 2 nights for a horrible stay in Rotorua ever! Won’t recommend this to nobody!!!

A Volcanic Land of Wonders
Rotorua is living proof of the magnificent, and sometimes mind-boggling, might of nature. Smoking hot springs, bubbling mud pools and fast-spouting geysers give the surrounding landscape an almost other-worldly feel.
This New Zealand city sits in the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, the world’s newest geothermal hotspot. It was created after the 1886 eruption that covered Te Wairoa Buried Village, between 2 of many lakes gracing this fertile terrain. By Lake Rotorua’s shores is the luxurious Polynesian Spa with its thermal pools. Just behind in Government Gardens are the city’s best cultural offerings: the Arts Village, Tamaki Maori Village and Rotorua Museum, in an elegant former bath house.
Native animals roam in Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park below Mount Ngongotaha, accessible via the Skyline cable car. The views while ascending make it obvious why this is called the Bay of Plenty. Tikitere Thermal Park on the opposite side of the lake is known as Hell’s Gate, but as long as you can ignore the sulphuric smell, the spas are simply heavenly.
More springs are in Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, whose surrounding forest is popular for mountain biking, and Wai-O-Tapu where the Champagne Pool is a striking mix of green and orange.
Booking.com’s accommodation range is as diverse as the scenery, encompassing luxury hotels, cheap hostels and motels near Rotorua Airport.

This beautiful town has a wealth of things to do, sights to see and the people are friendly and engaging.
Lots of things to interest most if not everyone.
Ranging from adventure activities, to beautiful sights, thermal pools and spas to relax in and cultural/historical enrichment around every corner. A real treat

So much to do!
So much to do! It's become the Queenstown of the north island - lots of adventure activities. We did spend a fair bit of money, but we also had a great time, they just need some more good quality restaurants, and better coffee in the township - the best we found was out in the suburbs.
I loved our time there, especially the mountain biking - so fun. People were all friendly and helpful too. Def a gret place to visit, esp if you have tweens / bigger kids.

Rotorua was a great place to visit.
Rotorua was a great place to visit. Mitai Village, Hot beach, waimangu volcano were all interesting places to visit. If you like to hike, the 9 mile hike to hot beach and the hiking trails in the Mokaihaha Ecological area are both great hikes .
Just don't stay at AWA hotel.

As we were only doing a two day stop over to catch up with family and friends, on our way to a wedding, it was just enough to get us time to do these visits and still have time for ourselves. As were not "exploring Rotorua" we did not need extra time. Would recommend at least 4 - 5 days if you are new to the place and want to do all those sights, that Rotorua has to offer.

The accommodation ideal for 3 adults with separate bedrooms:...
The accommodation ideal for 3 adults with separate bedrooms: 1 with a double and a single bed - the other with a double bed, extremely comfortable. staff welcoming, 3 tv's. Room service breakfast which we liked and a the restaurant had a good evening menu selection. we had a jacuzzi and use of the spa bath and whilst the swimming pool was a bit limited for size and depth it was very relaxing. the Pitch and putt was fun and the games room ample size, cooling / relaxing 10 minute walk around the stream was refreshing. the staff are brilliant and i could not fault them - well done
Really comfy, clean and good sized room (had a small couch which I wasn't expecting). Friendly, accommodating staff. Really liked the spa area. Great setting right on the lake. Excellent value for money especially during the school holidays. A very quiet, relaxing base to explore Rotorua. It's a little tired in areas around the hotel but I think this is reflective of the price and also how difficult the past few years have been for hotels in touristy areas.
The full kitchen facilities were great. We used the BBQ outside also. The pool was well used by the kids, great to have it in full view of the room. The location was fantastic. Handy to everything...eat street, shops, amazing local park/playground - and of course with driving to local attractions. I would definitely stay here with my family again and highly recommend to anyone I know travelling to Rotorua. And the staff were SO friendly and lovely.
The hot pool and thermal Pools were great for the adults to relax as well as for entertaining the kids. The beds were extremely comfortable with extra pillows and blankets. The room was warm with replacement towels every day. Management were extra friendly and welcoming. The room was great for hosting a family on a budget etc. Stove and fridge provided. Overall the stay exceeded my expectations and we had a great time staying.
The check-in process was smooth. The hotel was centrally located and close to everything. Our room was nice and clean. We had the 1 BR unit with the hot tub on the balcony. We liked having the kitchen and washer/dryer. The in house movies on tv were an added bonus. Since we stayed over a weekend, the street parking was free and located right in front of the property.
Location wise very good, Maori village is already there so convient to walk from hotel and near to city. Your dinner and breakfast was the best in rotorua hotel. My kids loved your meal so much. My kids kept talking about the stay at your hotel already made you a high quality accommodation. I'll choose your hotel again on my next visit to rotorua. Thank you so much
I was very happy to discover that the hotel rooms were new and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I decided to have dinner at their restaurant and I was glad that I did, my dinner was excellent!
The reception area also has a large gathering / game room. It turned into a fun evening with most of the guest socializing after dinner.
Sudima Hotel was perfect and the location was excellent as it was next to the lake and Polynesia spa and not too far from the city center. The rooms were alright but it met our expectations as a family. The lounge/ restaurant was excellent and when talking together at night sitting on the couch and drinking the drinks was excellent.
We had to make a change of plans due to an injury and one of our party was in a w/c.
Richard was really good about working with us to make the changes that we needed.
We would highly recommend this hotel.
They treated us very kindly and professionally.
having our own private courtyard with the spa outside the room doors, was more then enough space and beds for my lil family… receptionist / hotel staff / seemed like management was very welcoming and helped us with out any problems!
Everything. spacious room with beautiful kitchen. the spa in the room was great and the mineral spa was amazing. even fresh coffee was provided in the room.
I’ve stayed in lots of hotels and motels but Aura is one of best!
The hotel was well positioned and fairly central to Rotorua for eateries, shopping etc.
The atrium on arrival was pleasant and staff were smartly dressed.
There was tea making facilties in the room.
Nice clean rooms with your typical hotel basic facilities. Loved the location. Walking distance to lake and shops and eat street. Great place to stay if you have function on at the Events Centre.
Close to main attractions in Rotorua no need for car.
Upgraded in the family room with no extra cost.
Friendly staff.
Sadly i didnt have time to test the pools.
The location was great, and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor heated pool. The hotel is very family friendly, and the staff were more than happy to help.
